The 11.2 acre park has a 2 acre pond, a 40-50 foot bluff that goes through the middle of the property in a North-South direction and has Prairie Creek running through the Eastern boundary. Visit the Hurstville Lime Kilns to learn more about limestone mortar. The kilns were once part of the company town Hurstville. With rotating exhibits and numerous opportunities for creativity and entertainment, Maquoketa Art Experience is a must-see destination for visitors as we expand our offerings to our town and region. Its caves, limestone formations and rugged bluffs provide visitors a chance to ''step back'' into geological time thousands of years. This 273-acre park is open to visitors and features hiking trails. Maquoketa Raceway races IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, INEX Legends and 4-Cylinders. Various traveling classes. Lakehurst Dam has beautiful scenic views, great fishing, and river access for canoes and kayaks. Don't miss watching the sun set over this beautiful attraction.
