The Ohnward Fine Arts Center
Maquoketa, IA
Receives $20,000 Pledge from
Gary & Marilyn Drew
The Ohnward Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce a charitable contribution in the amount of $20,000 from Gary and Marilyn Drew. The only thing they are asking the Ohnward Fine Arts Center to do is to come up with a matching $20,000 of its own donations between now and April 30, 2021.  Once Ohnward raises $20,000 the Drews will follow through with their contribution.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the lights were starting to dim at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center in Maquoketa Iowa.  Picture this: an auditorium filled with row after row of empty seats with no patrons there to fill the room with laughter and excitement before watching the night’s show. There is no set on stage, no actors, no musicians, no costumes-nothing. The only thing there is a dark, empty stage, devoid of any artistic expression. All because of a pandemic that is afflicting the nation.
We are asking for your help!  Let’s keep the stage lights burning bright at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center We are a non-profit organization. We receive no funding from the city, tax dollars or any specific financial institutions. We rely on the generous donations of our business partners and patrons to meet many of our expenses. As a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations to Ohnward are tax-deductible. We are deeply grateful to all those who have given so generously in the past, strengthening Ohnward and ensuring its vitality in this wonderful community.  Thank you for your past support.  We hope you have had enjoyable times with your family, friends and neighbors while attending an event at Ohnward.  We sure hope to see everyone soon after this pandemic is over!
The facility seats 841. The stage is larger than the stage at Davenport’s Adler Theater (a primary facility in Eastern Iowa for hosting traveling productions), the sound and lighting facilities are state-of-the-art, and much to everyone’s relief, the acoustics are outstanding.   All this with a “blueprint” that only existed in Gary Drew’s mind!  The Ohnward Fine Arts Center will be a tremendously persuasive lesson in the power of positive thinking for many years to come.
This money will be used for many items at the Ohnward Fine Arts Center. The Ohnward Fine Arts Center is a 29,800 square foot non-profit facility was made possible through private donations, grants and countless volunteer hours.  The facility is not just a building but a symbol of the spirit and generosity of people who care.  It opened in Dec. 2004.
Remember the Ohnward Fine Arts Center is a non-profit 501 C3.  Therefore all donations are tax deductable.  Any questions can be directed to the executive director of the Ohnward Fine Arts Center, Richard Hall.  Mr. Hall can be reached at 563-652-9815 or at
