Name: YMCA Annual Campaign Give-A-Thon 2021
Date: February 21, 2021
Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM CST
Event Description:

Everywhere we turn today, we read, see, or hear concerns about our youth and families. Are they safe? Are their basic needs being met? Are they developing supportive, caring relationships? We are fortunate in our community to have the Maquoketa Area Family YMCA that provides programs and services to teach and demonstrate the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Our “Y” believes that focusing on values that assist children and adults develop character builds a strong community foundation.

Through the Maquoketa Area Family YMCA, many have provided financial resources for scholarships for campers, memberships, swim lessons, and youth programs. Because of this, young peoples lives throughout our area have been affected in positive ways. I am so impressed when I hear the stories of changed lives from these young people who have had this experience in the past. The young people of our community need our help again this year. Last year alone we provided about 1,000 scholarships to those in need! For us to continue to serve those less fortunate we’re counting on your support. Join us on Sunday, February 21st from 4-6 p.m. on MCSN on YouTube (Maquoketa Cardinals Sports Network) as we showcase the
good work we’re doing while local volunteers make calls to generate support for the mission.

Emcees for this new event are our very own ‘Voice of the Cards’ Chad Coakley and Dale Scott. In addition, 11 local community leaders have volunteered to be ‘pushed into the pool’ if they are one of the top 4 vote getters. Donors will vote with their donations – for every $50 donated, one vote can be placed.

Community leaders include:
Gerald Smith, City Manager - Brad Koranda, Police Chief - Brent Kilburg - Sherriff Chris Hoover, Superintendent - Mike Steines, County Board Chair - Caleb BonJour, Principal - Tom Gruenwald, Athletic Director - Wendy McCartt, Chamber Director - Chris Fee, Superintendent - Todd Hawley, Superintendent - Matt Osterhaus, Osterhaus Pharmacy

Please consider calling in your gift prior to the event or the day of and make sure to place your vote for who you would like to see pushed in the pool!
