Name: Owl Prowl
Date: February 5, 2021
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CST
Event Description:
Owls live all around us, but as nocturnal animals, they aren’t often seen. Join Naturalist Jeny Meyer in learning how to identify our local owls by sound. We'll take a walk in the woods along the Racoon Creek valley trail at Maquoketa Caves State Park as we call for owls. All ages welcome. We’ll meet at the main stone shelter at 6pm. Participants are encouraged to read the book “Owl Moon” by Jane Yolen to get excited and get a peek at what the experience is like. To learn more about the Owls of Iowa please join us for our virtual event on February 2nd at 6pm. Participants of the Owl Prowl are encouraged to wear masks and dress warmly. There will not be restroom facilities available during the Owl Prowl. For more information on either program or to register, please email jacksonccb@jacksonccb.com or call 563-652-3783 at least 48 hours before the event. An email link will be sent for the virtual program. Program Numbers: in-person programs are limited to maintain smaller groups. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. Social Distancing/Face Coverings: face coverings are required by all participants for in-person programs per the Jackson County Mask Mandate when 6 feet can not be maintained between persons of different households.
