Samuel Calvo Rosenstone
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Samuel is a keyboard player and pianist whose versatility has enabled him to perform on stages in classical, jazz, funk, and pop settings in the Twin Cities and beyond. Inspired by his roots on both sides of the Atlantic, Rosenstone attended the University of Minnesota receiving a B.M. as a Schlafle Family Scholar studying piano under Alexander Braginsky. While at the University of Minnesota, Rosenstone was a finalist in The Schubert Club Student Scholarship Competition in 2014 and received the Jeanne Arland Peterson Scholarship for excellence in Jazz Studies in 2015. Rosenstone’s versatility as a musician and collaborator has enabled him to share the stage with a wide variety of artists including singer and songwriter HALEY (Haley Bonar), Cory Wong (Vulfpeck), pop singer Eric Gordon (American Idol), dancing and musical troupe The Rhythmic Circus, folk rock band TABAH, and instrumental group Purple Funk Metropolis. Rosenstone maintains a busy performance schedule throughout the Midwest and is excited to be performing in Maquoketa, IA for the first time.
Proudly carrying her Iowa roots with her to Minneapolis, Laura has resided in the Twin Cities since 2012, moving there to attend the University of Minnesota. While pursuing her B.A. in dance and fashion studies, Laura had the opportunity to perform the work of modern/contemporary dance choreographers Uri Sands, Nora Chipaumire, Gregory Dolbashian, Maurya Kerr, the Martha Graham Dance Company and Garth Fagan, to name a few. Shortly after graduating, she made an appearance on the Terrace Theater stage at the Kennedy Center, performing a student work at the American College Dance Association festival. Laura is in the middle of her third season with Zenon Dance Company, through which she has performed the work of choreographers Danny Buraczeski, Michelle Boulé, Penelope Freeh, and others.
Laura also performs in project-based work throughout the country for John Mark Creative and with her co-creators in Kelvin Wailey. You may have caught some of her recent on-screen work in Sylvan Esso’s latest music video, PARAD(w/m)E. Her newest endeavor has been breaking ground on her own choreographic project—SLO Dance Company. She’s so excited to have the opportunity to share movement and moments with her hometown audience.
