DESCRIPTION:The Loras Choirs\, under the direction of Dr. Michael Bagby\, invite you to join us on Sunday\, November 17th at 2:00pm for this family-friendly concert reflecting the sounds and feelings of home. A reception will follow immediately afterwards hosted by the Maquoketa Art Experience.\n\nSongs of Home features choral favorites by Holst\, Ticheli\, and a brand new arrangement by Bagby. Reflecting on memories and dreams through music\, the Loras Choirs take listeners on a beautiful journey with familiar tunes including "What A Wonderful World" and "Shenandoah." You are sure to walk away humming!\n\n \n\nMichael Bagby\, DMA\, is a professor of piano and vocal studies at Loras College. His work as a pianist\, conductor\, vocal coach\, arranger and composer has taken him to theaters and performance halls across the country\, most recently for the Glimmerglass Festival in New York and the National Association of Teaching Singing (NATS) program in Georgia. Bagby made his NYC musical theatre debut as the assistant music director and co-arranger for Musical Tonight's production of The Boys from Syracuse and premiered his piano composition "Bells" at Carnegie Hall. Additional recent credits: music director Nathan Gunn: Flying Solo(Laguna Playhouse & San Diego Repertory Theatre)\, music director The Color Purple (Arts Center of Coastal Carolina)\, assistant music director Kiss Me\, Kate (Opera North)\, music director L'incoronazione di Poppea (Lyric Theatre at Illinois).
